Terrain expansion continues despite low snowfall. Summit will open tomorrow for the season! As always, all thanks go to the Mountain Operations teams who got this lift ready, especially Grooming, Lift Maintenance, Lift Operations, and Patrol. We want to be very clear that this terrain is for advanced skiers and riders only, and that hazards exist, such as exposed ground and rocks. These are what we call “low tide conditions,” so grooming will be minimal. We’re excited to have more terrain openings at Alpine, but we urge you to use caution and pay attention to signage.
You read that correctly: Both Siberia and Wa She Shu will open on Monday morning. It’s a Christmas miracle! Well, really it’s just the dedication of the Grooming and Upper Lift Maintenance teams — Against all odds, we are expanding just a bit more. Siberia and Wa She Shu will both operate from 9am – 4pm. Be advised that this is Experts-only terrain. Ski and ride within your ability level.
Mother Nature finally helped us out a bit! We received a lot of rain and mixed precipitation across all elevations over the past few days. Our 24-hour snow total is up to 7 inches on the upper mountain. While we would have loved to have received nothing but snow throughout this whole storm cycle, moisture isn’t the worst thing. Wet snow is better for building roads and ramps, and our goal is to expand to a few new chairlifts this weekend thanks to this little refresh. We have a lot of snow-pushing and establishment to do, but we are going to do our very best to get there.
We have a few small updates for this weekend. While we did get some much-needed moisture last week, it still wasn’t quite enough to help …
Finally we got a significant storm! Snow totals ranged from 5 to 19 inches, depending on where you are on the mountain. This snow made …
Everybody thank a snowmaker or snowcat operator! Thanks to their hard work and some cold temperatures this week, we will be expanding our terrain offering. Starting Saturday, we will be opening the Funitel, Gold Coast, Red Dog, and Resort Chair at Palisades, and we will also be adding Subway, Meadow, and the Big Carpet at Alpine.
Our teams work around the clock to get the mountain ready for skiing and riding. They’re among the best in the game – and they want to share what they know with you. We want you to be armed with the most accurate, most up-to-date information possible to plan ahead for your skiing & snowboarding this winter. As stated in our first operations blog of the season, Palisades will open on Wednesday, November 22nd with First Venture chairlift in the base area. By Saturday, we expect to expand our terrain to include Treeline Cirque to mid-station at Alpine. Thank you, snowmakers!
Welcome back to winter! … Sort of. We haven’t had any mega-storms yet, and the past few days have brought some rain to our lower …
In the past 2 years, Palisades Tahoe has invested over 6 Million in snowmaking infrastructure upgrades across both Palisades and Alpine. A lot of the work we did this summer was finishing up projects from last year.
