This past week the sun graced our slopes and made for some incredible soft turns, but this will change as a storm rolls into town. There’s a plethora of fun events happening this week, from Paramount+’s ‘The Lodge’, to the beginning of Town Race League, and even skiing with scientists. Grab your gear and get after it!

Weather
The sunny skies are sticking around through Saturday with highs into the 50s before the flip switches on Sunday and the next storm rolls in with colder air and snow to the Sierras. The highs should be in the 30s, and currently, we are not forecasted to experience winds higher than 40 mph. By the end of the day on Monday, we could see up to 6 inches of snow up top. On Tuesday, we will experience a quick break in the storm before another system could move into the area. For more information check out the weather blog by Open Snow’s Bryan Allegretto.
Conditions
The spring-like conditions will stick around through Saturday, with soft sun-graced snow. Start on the groomers in the morning before following the sun off-piste. By Sunday, the base should firm up and we will likely experience some variability as the snow falls on our slopes, seeing everything from ice to powder. Please ski and ride in control and within your ability level.
Operations
For the weekend, we anticipate having all lifts spinning and most of our 6,000 acres of terrain open, but as always, operations are subject to change based on conditions. Unsettled weather is in the forecast, but at this time, we do not anticipate any major operational impacts. To get the most up-to-date lift information, you can check the Palisades Tahoe app or the Lift + Grooming Status webpage.

Town Race League
Join us for the kickoff of the Palisades Tahoe Town Race League Series on March 5, 2025, where local racers of all levels come together to compete in a series of exciting alpine races. This community competition is perfect for skiers and snowboarders looking to challenge themselves and showcase their skills. This series will continue every Wednesday night through April 9 with a new theme each week. Each week we will pick the best dressed racer to win a prize! This week’s theme: Mardi Gras! Ski with a Scientist
Do you love to ski/snowboard and science? Join UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC) scientists for a fun, interactive on-the-mountain tour at Alpine in partnership with the US Forest Service. Learn about the research and education of TERC, the environmental history of Alpine, and the role of the US Forest Service and public lands at Palisades Tahoe.
This program happens at 1:00 pm on Fridays through the end of March. Tours will last approximately 1 hour. In the event that on-the-mountain tours are cancelled for inclement weather or unsafe snow conditions, the presentations will be alternatively available at 1:15pm inside the Alpine lodge. Parking
As a reminder, parking reservations are required every weekend and select holiday periods. Unless it is a holiday period, midweek parking remains free and first come, first served. We recommend carpooling as a great way to make sure all your friends get to the mountain to ride together. If you are trying to get to the mountain without your personal vehicle, there are other free options: the Sherwood Shuttle, the Mountaineer Shuttle, which offers free rides in Olympic Valley and Alpine Meadows, TART, and the free Park and Ride, available in both Truckee and Tahoe City with frequent rides between 6:30 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
