Thanksgiving Weekend Preview

This Thanksgiving weekend we have plenty of open terrain to be grateful for! Thanks to our dedicated staff who have been working around-the-clock and some early season snowfall, we will have 9 lifts and carpets open with terrain for all levels to enjoy. Here’s what’s on the schedule 9am-4pm daily, conditions permitting:

Ice Skating Indefinitely Closed

The Olympic Ice Pavillion will be closed indefinitely due to damage caused by historic snowfall during the 2016-17 winter season. Unfortunately, the damage sustained by the ice rink last season was more severe than anticipated. The boards surrounding the rink are damaged beyond repair, and significant maintenance is needed to the rink’s refrigeration system. We do not anticipate any effect on summer roller skating operations.

Opening Day Operations at Squaw Valley

It’s only been 4 months and 1 day since we closed on July 15, but winter can never come soon enough in Tahoe. It’s officially time to dust off your boots, wax your boards, and hit up your ski buddies because the 2017-18 Winter season kicks off tomorrow at Squaw Valley.

It’s a story of two iconic mountains: Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows. For 50 years, skiers and riders had to choose: The Olympic legacy of Squaw Valley or open-bowl terrain of Alpine Meadows. I’m Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley – and I love these mountains. That’s why I’m so excited about the California Express, a decades-old community […]
