Operations Update: Planning To Open Scott & KT-22 on Wednesday

The top of KT-22 earlier this week.

We plan to add Scott at Alpine and KT-22 at Palisades to the schedule on Wednesday. A lot of work goes into prepping these two lifts, even with the help of recent snowfall. Patrol, Lift Operations, and Lift Maintenance teams will be working throughout the day tomorrow to set ropes, finish ramps, and work out any last-minute kinks in the chairlift. So while you may see these chairs spinning tomorrow, our opening goal is Wednesday. Please be aware that this could change if we find any issues with either chair tomorrow, or if the Wednesday storm brings weather impacts.

Emigrant with the moon in the background last week.

Operations Update: Alpine Bowl Chair to Open Tomorrow

Top of Alpine Bowl last week.

At long last, Alpine Bowl Chair will open tomorrow. You may recall that last season, this chair was closed while we replaced a very specific part that could not be manufactured in-house. We are very excited to have this chair opening again and for continued terrain expansion at Alpine. Snowmaking, Lift Maintenance, Grooming, and Lift Operations have all put a ton of work into getting this chairlift back online. Thanks, team!

Operations Update: Summit Opens Tomorrow

The bottom terminal of Summit Express chairlift.

Terrain expansion continues despite low snowfall. Summit will open tomorrow for the season! As always, all thanks go to the Mountain Operations teams who got this lift ready, especially Grooming, Lift Maintenance, Lift Operations, and Patrol. We want to be very clear that this terrain is for advanced skiers and riders only, and that hazards exist, such as exposed ground and rocks. These are what we call “low tide conditions,” so grooming will be minimal. We’re excited to have more terrain openings at Alpine, but we urge you to use caution and pay attention to signage.
