Today’s conditions were an awesome Sunday Vibe at Palisades Tahoe. The snow was incredible – from pow and groomers, to side hits and lake views. Resort Chair and Red Dog were so scoring, our mountain tour stayed on lower mountain.

Red Dog
Walking over to the mountain mid-day, we were hyped to see the sun shining, the snow looking amazing, and minimal crowds on Red Dog. The plan for the day was a mountain tour from Resort Chair to Granite Chief. Heading up Red Dog, we were quite surprised at how well the north-facing snow was keeping from the recent storm’s cold snow. It was looking awesome.
At the top, we headed over to the terrain around Resort Chair. The lake views were amazing today. Sunny, snow on some of the trees, and springtime clouds around the basin. The groomers were looking great – soft, smooth, and with no crowds. The trees were looking awesome – still holding some great pow stashes.
Resort Chair
Dropping in, we found some incredible pow stashes with cold wintery pow. The turns were amazing. So awesome to be getting fresh pow turns a few days after the recent storm. We were laughing at how good the conditions were, and we weren’t even halfway down our first run of the day.
After the pow stashes up high, we zipped down the groomers. The groomers were riding so well, super edgeable – amazing to lay down carves and blast side slashes. The minimal crowds in the zone were awesome today. It felt like a separate resort on a midweek day. Each lap, we rode right on the lift – no lines.
With the big snowpack this season, it is awesome to see more terrain open up around the mountain. And the terrain around Resort Chair is a great example. Today we were riding terrain that rarely fills in, making this zone even more playful and with so many features. We rode an amazing rare tree zone today filled with pow pillows, drops, and stashes.
The terrain and conditions on Resort Chair were so good today that we decided to stay and continued lapping all afternoon, scoring endless pow stashes and laughs.
Red Dog
Wrapping up the session, we headed back to Red Dog to score some late-after-pow stashes in a few of our favorite zones. To our surprise, we found more awesome springtime pow on the north-facing slopes that were getting some great afternoon sun. The steeps and trees had some great wintery snow – pow to chalk.
Riding down to the base, it was awesome looking back up at the terrain of Red Dog and Resort Chair – today was an awesome Sunday shred session, from pow and groomers to lake views and Tahoe vibes.
