Palisades Conditions

It was overcast today, with the sun peeking through the clouds from time to time. We came to Palisades Tahoe in the afternoon, met our friends, and hopped on Funitel to get a few laps on the Gold Coast. The snow was pretty good, with very few firm patches due to the traffic. There are several intermediate runs open there. The Gold Coast Face trail was skied nicely, maybe a bit crowded. The park seemed closed today – we noticed several freestyle snowboarders shredding pretty fast along the run.

Today’s conditions were prime springtime shred, ideal for Base To Base closing day. It was an awesome day ripping both mountains edge to edge. From Alpine’s Sherwood and Treeline Cirque to Palisade’s Shirley and Granite, the snow and weather were all-time spring fun.

Today was another warm one at the Palisades side of the resort!  In spite of the temperatures getting warmer with May coming, the snow at Palisades is holding up extremely well.

Today was absolutely awesome for spring riding, and it’s crazy to think Palisades is going to be open for another two more months. Give your board or sticks a good spring waxing and come up and get those turns in!

Today’s weather and conditions were prime springtime with the sun, clouds, and slush. From the cool new groomers throughout Enchanted and Headwall to the slushy off-piste playground all around, the mountain has it all for springtime fun.

The terrain parks are on a new level this spring at Palisades Tahoe. Gold Coast lift accesses 4 parks in 2 zones, providing some of the best features in years. From the big jump line and a new rhythm section to the rail garden and new mini park, the crew brought back park vibes.

The Spring corn harvest has really been juicing lately, but when a snowflake popped into the forecast last night, I didn’t mind– though, as my friend said, I might be the only person in Tahoe who feels that way. Sun or snow, it’s a treat at this point, and this morning’s report dialed in the forecasted 6” received at Olympic Valley.

We started soon after the 9 am open, knowing any Southeast-facing aspects catching morning sun would already have a couple hours softening, which puts some classic corn routes in prime condition first thing.
