Today was a fantastic day to be snowboarding at Alpine with the sunny skies and warm temperatures. It’s totally worth it to come up this week to the mountain to get those spring turns in and work on your google tan!
Park season is on! The conditions were rocking today at Palisades Tahoe, from cold wintery snow in the Palisades and Mainline to sunny springtime laps in Gold Coast and Belmont’s newly built terrain parks. And the crews built out some awesome lines and features.
The conditions today were all-time miracle March, with over a foot of fresh snow, cold temps, and a bit of sun; it was midwinter pow day mode. The mountain was ripping, from the fast, untracked chutes and steeps of KT22, to the open bowls of Broken Arrow.
Today’s conditions were an awesome Sunday Vibe at Palisades Tahoe. The snow was incredible – from pow and groomers, to side hits and lake views. Resort Chair and Red Dog were so scoring, our mountain tour stayed on lower mountain.
We came in the afternoon, parked near Subway, and hopped on Roundhouse. The snow here is often wintery and grippy, even in Spring. Today the …
It was nice to see the sun out today after a warm, wet storm day yesterday. Palisades Tahoe received 8” of new snow in the last 24 hours. Luckily, the temps dropped overnight into the 20s, so the top layer of snow was nice and cold over the wetter snow that fell yesterday.
Today’s sunshine and minimal wind made for a fantastic day touring and spot-checking the upper mountain zones. From Siberia and Granite Chief to Broken Arrow, the conditions provided it all – fast groomers and chalky cold steeps to slushy corn off-piste and beyond filled-in terrain.
The storm turned to snow mid-day, delivering a fun pow day on the top of KT. From waking up to rain at the base at 8am and waiting to arriving at KT’s opening at 11am and ripping pow all afternoon till closing. Today’s conditions were variable and wild, from mashy smooth pow to windpack pow awesomeness. It was a great storm day riding.
Today’s conditions surprised, despite the rain-snow mix, providing a milky pow day on the lower mountain with 6”-8” new snow. From the woods and gullies of Red Dod and Far East to the awesomeness at higher elevations on KT22. Even though the weather was soggy and wet, the riding was fun and ripping. A great day to celebrate the legacy of Jake Burton. Ride on, Jake.
The snow quality was exceptional for the Sierra and we did not have a bad run all day. With more snow on the way and cold temps these next few days, the conditions are all-time.
