The main event has arrived… the 33rd annual Cushing Crossing is finally here! The capstone to The Spring Skiing Capital and the best event of the spring season is this Saturday, May 10, weather and conditions permitting. Hilarity to ensue…

Weather

Sunny skies are in the forecast for this Saturday with highs in the mid 60s (this is great for the competitors who may fall into the frigid Cushing Pond)! By Sunday, we have a slight cool down with highs in the 50s, before a steep drop-off on Monday and Tuesday, with temps returning to winter-like temperatures with highs in the 30s. There is a chance for some snow showers at our higher elevations on Monday and Tuesday, before gradually returning to spring temperatures later in the week.

Conditions

Spring, spring, spring, spring, spring…spring corn! Sorry, just over here turning into a broken record. But can you blame me? The snow is soft, slushy, and absolutely ripping out there. That said, it also gets a little too sticky and sloppy as the day goes on, which is why we’re sticking to our spring hours:

8 am to 1 pm for most lifts.
8 am to 2 pm for KT-22.

We’re keeping things crisp and fun, just like your favorite spring turns. When we have the slight cool down next week (and potential snowfall), it will be firm throughout the day, so we recommend sticking to the groomers. Reminder: It is late season, so all of our rock, tree, and shrub friends are starting to poke out of the snow. Be aware of unmarked obstacles as you ride!

Operations

After a short stint of mechanical closure, KT-22 has been put right back on the menu, and what’s more is we are spinning The Mothership from 8 am to 2 pm!

All other lifts will continue to spin 8 am to 1 pm, this includes: The Funitel, Gold Coast, Siberia, Shirley Lake, and Granite Chief.

We are skiing and riding seven days a week through Memorial Day, and if you’ve got the 25/26 Ikon Pass, you don’t have to wait until next winter to get out here. Come join us now, and ride our iconic terrain through May 26.
