This holiday weekend, you can expect sunny skies, freshly groomed corduroy, and immaculate après vibes at the KT Bass Bar. For January 18-20, we are offering a special $99 lift ticket to aid in the relief efforts of the Southern California Fires.
Weather
We should see mostly sunny skies each day, with highs in the 40s outside of the cooldown into the 30s on Monday. We could see some gusty northeast winds on Monday which could affect some upper mountain lifts. The sunny skies should stick around for most of next week, before we see a potential pattern shift and some snow showers in the long-range forecast. For more information, check out the weather blog by Open Snow’s Bryan Allegretto.

Conditions
Our conditions remain firm and fast especially on the off-piste terrain. The good news is our grooming has been off the charts so there is plenty of corduroy to carve into. If you choose to venture into off-piste terrain, make sure you stay within your ability level, and that your gear is tuned and in top-notch shape. If your gear needs a tune, stop by one of the rental shops in The Village at Palisades Tahoe or at the Alpine Base. If you choose the rental shop in The Village, there is a brand new state-of-the-art Wintersteiger Jupiter; a fully automated service machine for ski and snowboard tuning. The innovative features and technology enhancements will take your ski and snowboard experiences to the next level, as this machine is the most precise and advanced in its lineup and leads to a whole new world of equipment servicing!
Operations
Our lift operations remain similar to this past week, with every chairlift running at Alpine and every chairlift running at Palisades except for Olympic Lady, Broken Arrow, and Silverado. Far East will run both Saturday and Sunday. We do not anticipate major weather conditions or impacts to our lifts, but if the winds do pick up on Monday, some of our ridgeline lifts may be affected.
Silverado still needs more snow before we can start to expand our terrain into that area.

Ski, Donate, and Triple the Impact for Southern California Fire Relief
From January 18–20, purchase a special $99 lift ticket* at Palisades Tahoe, and 100% of your purchase will support Southern California fire relief in partnership with the California Fire Foundation. Plus, with donation matches from Palisades Tahoe and Alterra Mountain Company (up to $100,000 each), your $99 can triple in impact to help families and communities rebuild. Safety
It is always incredibly important to ski and ride within your ability level, be cognizant of hazards and other skiers, and pay attention to all signage. The closed signs and ropes that patrol puts up are for your safety, and if you go past a closed sign, you can lose your pass. Make sure to ski defensively and give other skiers and riders at least plenty of space between yourself and them.

January is Learn to Ski and Ride Month, and it is your responsibility to know the National Ski Area Association Responsibility Code to keep yourself and others safe. If you are a first time skier or want to improve your skills, Palisades Tahoe has a premier Mountain Sports School for all ages. From first lessons to advanced athletic coaching, our elite, certified instructors, professional alumni, and exceptional mountain terrain provide a top-tier learning environment that enables any guest to progress past their limitations and achieve their goals.

A great tool for navigating your way around the mountain is the Palisades Tahoe App. It delivers real-time updates on lift and terrain statuses, features trail maps, offers personalized riding recommendations based on ability level, and allows you to track your friends on the mountain.
