We’re the only ski resort open in Lake Tahoe and there are still TEN DAYS to get your last turns in. We’re looking pretty good for the final stretch, but since it has been (and will continue to be) quite warm, we thought you’d want another update. Here’s our best guess for the end of the 23/24 season:
- Headwall is probably the next to go. Snow on CII Ridge and Chicken Bowl is very thin, to the point we can’t maintain it with a snowcat anymore. Reverse Traverse will stay open as conditions allow.
- Bailey’s Beach is also one of the next lifts to go. However, Mountain Meadow surprisingly has pretty good snowpack, so it might actually make it all the way to the end.
- Will Mountain Run make it to the end? Last week, we felt like it might make it to the 27th but now we’re not so sure. It’s REALLY thin in places so be prepared: It could close midday anytime in the coming week or so. It just depends on snowmelt.
- Through the 27th: We expect to have Siberia, Gold Coast, Shirley Lake, Granite Chief, the Funitel, and the Aerial Tram. Mountain Meadow and Big Blue are also possibilities if the snowpack holds up.
- We will have both Gold Coast Terrain Park and Emigrant Gully Terrain Park through the 27th as well.
One note on Siberia: With our current warm temperatures, Siberia’s location for sun exposure, and how steep the slope is, it can be very difficult to groom this time of year. We may stop grooming the main run and only maintain the ridge if we feel we are hurting the snowpack more than helping it.
