The warm Tahoe spring weather has been delivering some exceptional times out there on the mountain at the Spring Skiing Capital®. With our adjusted operating hours of 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., the daily cycle has been lining up beautifully. Firm and fast snow in the mornings softens throughout the day into smooth spring turns under the sun, making for exactly the kind of conditions this place is known for.
Behind the scenes, our on-mountain teams have continued doing what they’ve done all season long: getting creative. From farming snow to strategically moving it into key areas, crews have been doing everything possible to keep us lapping and the good times rolling deep into May. After assessing the current snowpack, we’re excited to officially share that we are targeting Memorial Day Weekend (May 23–24) for our closing weekend celebrations.
A couple of months ago, conversations around a possible late-April closure were very real. March delivered exactly zero inches of new snow, and much of this season relied on making the absolute most out of just a handful of major storms. The fact that we’re still skiing today is a testament to the creativity, commitment, and nonstop effort from our mountain operations teams.
Closing weekend is always a special time around here. It’s when the community comes together to reflect on the season, celebrate the memories we made, and squeeze in those final spring turns before we turn the page and welcome summer. So rally your crew and come be part of the tradition.

Operations Updates
As we continue navigating late-season conditions, here are a few important operational updates for the weeks ahead:
Gold Coast Express
We currently have a high level of confidence that Gold Coast and the terrain park will remain open through Sunday, May 24. The park crew continues to keep the setup fresh, and Gold Coast remains one of the best places around to lap spring park laps deep into May.
Shirley Lake Express
We plan to keep Shirley Lake spinning as long as possible, but coverage along the return route from Shirley Ridge back toward the Funitel is getting extremely thin. Our Grooming team will continue farming and stacking snow over the next several days to preserve access, but at this time we anticipate Shirley likely closing sometime around the middle of next week (May 18–21).
Siberia Express
After an incredible spring run, Tuesday, May 12 will be the final day of operations for Siberia. The Grooming team has done everything possible to keep access to the lower terminal alive, but coverage has officially reached its limit. Huge shoutout to all of the crews who kept Siberia spinning this long. Spring laps off Siberia delivered some all-time conditions this season, and we know a lot of this community made some incredible memories out there over the past few weeks.
Closing Weekend at the Spring Skiing Capital®
There’s just something special about closing weekend around here. It’s that time of year where the community comes together one last time to squeeze every ounce of fun out of the season. One more chairlift ride with your crew. One more spring park lap. One more stylish carve under the California sun before we all inevitably start pretending we enjoy other hobbies for the next few months. Closing weekend always brings out the best of this place. And this year, the good times won’t stop at last chair.

Made in Tahoe Spring Festival (May 23–24)
As the lifts stop spinning each afternoon, The Village will come alive with the Made in Tahoe Spring Festival, one of the best celebrations of local Tahoe culture all year long.
This free two-day festival transforms the Village into a showcase of everything that makes Tahoe special, featuring:
- Local artists and makers
- Live music
- Breweries and food vendors
- Community organizations
- Local businesses and creators
It’s the perfect way to cap off a spring ski day. Trade your ski boots for comfortable shoes, wander through The Village, grab a local beverage, listen to live music, and soak in one last spring weekend with the Tahoe community.

Enjoy it While You Can
If this season has proven anything, it’s that you really never know how the story is going to go. A couple months ago, conversations about a possible April closure were very real. And now here we are, talking about skiing and riding through Memorial Day Weekend after an April that completely flipped the script. That’s the beauty of this place.
So whether you’re chasing one final park lap or just trying to hold onto winter for a little bit longer, now’s the time. Because before we know it, we’ll all be sitting on beaches somewhere fantasizing about soft spring snow, wind in our faces, and laying down one more stylish carve.
The good times are still rolling. We’ll see you out there.
