We are devastated watching the Caldor Fire threaten our neighbors in the Tahoe region. As of Monday morning, South Lake Tahoe and the West Shore of Lake Tahoe to the El Dorado County line are under mandatory evacuation orders. A red flag warning remains in effect until Wednesday night, and high winds may cause these orders to expand and change quickly.
Please be sure to stay alert, be prepared, and check the latest updates from CalFire. You can find additional information and resources on the Caldor Fire here: https://linktr.ee/IMT6
Travel to the Tahoe area is Not Advised
This is not the time to come to Tahoe for recreation or vacation. While the Caldor Fire is not currently a threat to Alpine Meadows or Olympic Valley, it is imperative that all area resources are concentrated on fighting this fire and getting residents to safety. As many of our employees and neighbors are facing evacuation orders, please refrain from adding cars to our roads when evacuation is the number one priority.
Activities and Village Events Cancelled
The Aerial Tram and all activities are closed until further notice, and all Village events are cancelled through Labor Day. Cancelled events include: Bluesdays, First Street Yoga, Guitar Strings & Chicken Wings, and Alpine Wine Fest. If you have lodging booked at the Village at Squaw Valley, please email info@squawalpine.com for help canceling your stay.
Our hearts go out to the Sierra-at-Tahoe team, whose beloved ski resort faced the Caldor Fire head-on last night, and to the many others in the Tahoe community who have fled their homes and businesses. We are working with our employees who have been evacuated to help them find housing while they are displaced.
Thank you to the thousands of firefighters and emergency crews who continue to bravely battle wildfires across California.
Stay tuned for more updates.
