Dan Matteson – Ski Instructor
Palisades Tahoe
Years at Palisades: 33
Dan Matteson embodies the passion and spirit of Palisades Tahoe. As the organizer of the Ski Club, he has created a welcoming community for over 100+ dedicated skiers, fostering connections that extend beyond the slopes. His exceptional communication—both on the mountain and through email—keeps participants engaged and inspired.
More than just a leader on the hill, Dan is a true example of camaraderie and dedication. Remembering what it was like to spend holidays away from family, he started an annual Christmas dinner for instructors, giving them a place to feel at home. His kindness, enthusiasm, and commitment to both guests and teammates make him a pillar of the Palisades community.
No matter the conditions, Dan always finds a way to keep the stoke alive. Whether helping skiers discover new terrain, building lifelong friendships, or simply reminding us why we love this sport, he goes the extra mile—every time.
