MLK Weekend is a great opportunity to spend time in Tahoe and track some ski days for the 25/26 season. Book Signing: Four Women and a Mountain | January 16
Meet author Lisa Arnbrister Barbash to hear her new book, a historical nonfiction portrait of four women who have shaped the culture of Olympic Valley.

Sunset Happy Hour | January 16 – 18
Enjoy stunning sunset views at 8,200′ while sipping on happy hour drinks and savoring delicious food specials.

Live Music at KT Bass Bar | January 16 – 18
Kick off your après-ski with live beats and good vibes at the KT Base Bar Deck. This weekend features DJ Jonji.

Mighty Mite World Cup | January 17 – January 18
Each winter, Palisades Tahoe’s youngest athletes step up to the start gate for one of the most anticipated events of the season, the Mighty Mite World Cup. Occurs at Palisades on Saturday and Alpine on Sunday.

When you are an Ikon Pass holder, access to the mountain and all its benefits become cheaper and easier. Enroll in our weekly Ikon Pass Thursday clinic to improve your skills and meet other skiers/riders. Take a group lesson any day of the week for 20% off and share discounted lift tickets with your Friends & Family. Parking Reservations Required- Here’s How To Get Here:
- Free parking reservations will be available on January 13th for January 17th – 19th. Advance paid parking reservations for $30 are still available. Secure your spot at parkpalisadestahoe.com
- Avoid arriving right at 9 am. Arrive earlier (7–8:30 am) or later (closer to 12 pm). Parking reservations are not required if you arrive after 1 pm.
- Don’t leave at 4 pm. Stick around for après-ski fun or evening events. Otherwise, leave by 2:30 pm to avoid traffic.
- Alternative ways to get here:
- Mountaineer is a free public transport option that can be summoned by an app. Request your ride and get picked up in a 4WD, dog-friendly van that seats up to nine passengers.
- Park and Ride offers free shuttles from Truckee or Tahoe City to The Village every weekend through April 13, 2025. Start: 6:30–7:45 am; Return: Until 5:45 pm.
- TART local bus offers free daily service from Truckee and Tahoe City to Olympic Valley. Call 530-550-1212 for schedule info.
- Sherwood Shuttle has free West Shore shuttle services to Alpine (Sat/Sun only, weather permitting). First shuttle: 8:30 am; Last return: 4:00 pm.

Ski California Safety Month
January is Ski California Safety Month! Test your safety knowledge for a chance to win a 2026/2027 Palisades Tahoe Local Pass.
Before you ski and ride, please familiarize yourself with Your Responsibility Code:
- Always stay in control. You must be able to stop or avoid people or objects.
- People ahead of or downhill of you have the right-of-way. You must avoid them.
- Stop only where you are visible from above and do not restrict traffic.
- Look uphill and avoid others before starting downhill or entering a trail.
- You must prevent runaway equipment.
- Read and obey all signs, warnings, and hazard markings.
- Keep off closed trails and out of closed areas.
- You must know how and be able to load, ride, and unload lifts safely. If you need assistance, ask the lift attendant.
- Do not use lifts or terrain when impaired by alcohol or drugs.
- If you are involved in a collision or incident, share your contact information with each other and a ski area employee.
