We are looking forward to your visit this holiday weekend! In order to ensure that you have a seamless and fun experience, here is some helpful information to consider before you arrive.
Stay Home Order Update
The Stay-Home order for the Greater Sacramento Region has been lifted, which means that The Village at Squaw Valley is accepting lodging reservations and our restaurants can now serve food either outdoors or prepackaged to-go. Our county is still in the Purple Tier, so we continue to have strict Covid safety regulations in place.
Additionally, there is still a California Travel Advisory that recommends you do not travel more than 120 miles from home for non-essential activities. We ask that you keep this in mind when making plans.
How To Access the Mountain
There will be no day-of tickets available at Squaw or Alpine. If you do not have a pass or pack, you must purchase your tickets online in advance. The only exception to this is for Ikon Friends & Family tickets, which can be purchased day-of at any ticket window.
If you have an Ikon Base pass, remember, Saturday & Sunday are blacked out this weekend. You do have the option of purchasing a 25% off discounted lift ticket for yourself at a ticket window on either day.
COVID Safety Basics
This season, we have stringent rules regarding health & safety measures for our guests and staff. We require a mask at all times when you are at the resort. There is no eating or drinking in lift lines or on the Funitel or Aerial Tram. Additionally, we have no indoor spaces available for resting, storing equipment, etc., so you will need to plan accordingly.
We recommend that you make your car your home base for ski storage, apres, and the like. We are fine with tailgating and parking lot apres, but please remember to only participate in these activities with your household. Most of our parking is walkable from the base of either mountain, with the exception of Alpine’s overflow lots. You can still take the free Squaw Alpine Express shuttle to these lots if needed.

Lessons & Guides are 30% off this week
Save 30% on Regular Group and Private Lessons & Guides with the promo code Snow30. Reservations must be made in advance online between January 12-19, 2021. This deal is valid for lessons dated through the remainder of the 20/21 season, excluding the period of February 13-19, 2021.
This promo code cannot be applied to Women of Winter clinics, the Perfect Progression Program, Mountain Camp, Summiteers, Alpine Unlimited, or Squaw Valley Ski Club.
Parking
As in years past, parking is first-come, first-serve at both mountains. Our carpool lots are not operating right now due to COVID-19.
New this year: There is a limited amount of pre-paid premium parking available at Alpine Meadows on select days. For this holiday weekend, spots can be purchased on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. We recommend purchasing a parking spot online in advance, but if inventory is available, you can also book a spot when you arrive. More detailed instructions for how to book can be found on our Parking Page.
Tubing (and Disco Tubing!)
Tubing will be operating daily this weekend. We recommend that you book your one-hour timeslot in advance, since inventory may not be available day-of. Please remember to arrive at least 15 minutes early to your tubing session as well. Tubing will be open from 11am-7pm on Friday, and from 11am-4pm on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
Our popular Disco Tubing activity is back this Saturday. You must purchase your tickets online in advance. This event tends to fill up quickly and has less space available this year due to social distancing measures.
Masks are required to participate in tubing activities.
Weather
It’s going to feel like spring skiing this weekend! Remember to bring layers, sunscreen, and sunglasses. See our full list of what we recommend for spring skiing weather here.
- Saturday: Sunny with a high of 50.
- Sunday: Sunny with a high of 55.
- Monday: Sunny with a high of 53. Winds could pick up in the afternoon/evening.
Stay Up To Date
- Use the Squaw Alpine App to track your stats & get the latest on what’s open.
- The Squaw Alpine Mountain Ops Twitter is another great tool for real-time information.
Please Be Patient & Flexible
We do have reduced uphill capacity this season due to the safety measures we have in place for lift loading. Lines will also look longer than they are due to social distancing. We ask that you exercise some patience and flexibility given that our operations are modified. In summary, this should be a beautiful, fun weekend and we can’t wait to enjoy it with you.
