Apr 20th: Springtime Shred Is On: 4 Parks. 2 Zones. Oh, so good!

The terrain parks are on a new level this spring at Palisades Tahoe. Gold Coast lift accesses 4 parks in 2 zones, providing some of the best features in years. From the big jump line and a new rhythm section to the rail garden and new mini park, the crew brought back park vibes.

Gold Coast

Today’s strike mission was all about spot-checking the terrain park set up at Palisades Tahoe. The park crew has been expanding the terrain park across Gold Coast the past week, and today’s sunny warm conditions were prime to check it out. It is awesome to have the guest builder in town, supporting the park crew and building the amazing new features.

The parks are the best they’ve been in years. Yes, multiple parks around Gold Coast. Get out and check it out. There is something for everyone, from the new mini park that rolls beneath Emigrant to the new rhythm section alongside the big jump line to the expansive rail garden zones. The guest builder – Chris Meyer, is known for creating flowy lines, smooth transitions, and creative features. And it shows.

The Jump Line

The triple set of jumps on the Gold Coast main park is amazing. The take-offs and landings match so well. The three jumps are progressive, with the first one at around 15 feet, the second at around 25 feet, and the third at about 35 feet. The transitions are buttery. And with today’s ideal park riding conditions – sunny mid-40s, the line was riding super well.

It was awesome watching our good friends absolutely send it with style. Nick Geisen was putting down the line of the day – cab 5, backside 7 to frontside 1080. Yeah, Nick. He hadn’t been on a board in three years and shows up today, from the beach, with the hammers. The park is prime to get after it like Nick.

The Rail Garden

The park crew awesomely continues to expand the Gold Coast main park’s rail garden. It seems each day, there is a new feature or a change in the line. Love this, as it adds spice and new lines. The rail garden has so many options. From getting tubed in the woods to the rainbow and triple clack to the wall ride and down flat down, there is something for everyone to get rad. And the take-offs, landings, and spacing is spot on. Could lap this section all day.

And the expanded section is super cool, off to the side. Sounds like they are going to make a change to it in the next few days. Stoked to see what they create.

Rhythm Section

This new section is amazing. It’s got Holy Bowly influence and flows like a skatepark. The highlight is the rocket booster hip. This feature is a favorite. And a classic that was always in the park. It is so nice to see this feature back and looking better than ever. It rides so incredibly well – send it to the moon.

Mini Park

This new terrain park was creating quite a buzz around Gold Coast today – it is so much fun! The flow of the park is unlike anything we have had at Palisades before. It is a mini skatepark that flows so well. From the mini canon to the hips, rail curb, jump line, rail garden, and volcanoes… the park has it all. The best part is the adventure of picking new lines through the park each lap. So many options. Love parks like this, bringing out the skatepark vibe adventure.

Big thanks to the park crew and mountain ops for the new terrain parks. Spring riding at Palisades Tahoe is now in full mode. It’s time to get that next trick. The next few days are going to be awesome around the mountain with great weather and terrain parks. See you out there shredding.
