Today was one of the best days of the season. Light, untracked powder and silky-soft groomer perfection.
After over 4 FEET of snow to kick off February, the Mountain Surf Report is here to here to help you find the good stuff this weekend. Conditions are firing, and the weather is beautiful – let’s go get after it.
The conditions today were excellent, with great coverage. As the storm came in, the temperatures were dropping, and the lack of crowds meant I could lap the lifts all day.
Perfect powder and great groomers made for an awesome couple of days at Palisades Tahoe this week.
It happens to the best of us: You’re out skiing or snowboarding when you suddenly catch an edge, and it wipes you out. You immediately think: I’m so glad I’m wearing my helmet! We’re glad when you wear your helmet, too. It is important to practice good safety measures on our mountains, so to celebrate NSAA’s Ski Safety Month, we’re sharing a few safety tips for having a fun, seamless time enjoying Palisades Tahoe. Plus: We have safety-related events going on such patrol dog demonstrations and beacon practice with Alpenglow Expeditions!
The groomers were where it was at as we took advantage of the soft, spring-like conditions, which had people skiing in t-shirts. The forecast is good, though, with the potential for up to 20″ of fresh snow over the weekend.
After potentially the best two days of the season so far, big snow in the forecast should set up a memorable holiday weekend.
Full-on winter is back at Palisades!
Conditions were fantastic thanks to the great work done by crews across the mountain – and I even got to ride with Johnny Mosely!
The skiing was misty and fun today on the Winter Solstice!
