Snowfall Report:
The weak system that moved through on Friday brought a fresh 2 inches of snow to the mountain. That brings the season total to an even 700 inches!
The Weekend:
Some clouds and sun for Saturday and then mostly sunny for Sunday. Lighter breezes are expected on both days. Highs into the 40s on the mountain to nearly 50 degrees at the base Saturday, and then 50s to nearly 60 degrees on Sunday!
Monday – Wednesday:
Mostly sunny skies are expected Monday-Wednesday, but with gusty winds. Ridgetop winds could be gusting from the southwest up to 60-70+ mph by the end of the day on Monday and then remaining in the 50-60+ mph range through Wednesday. That could affect a few upper mountain lift operations.
Temperatures start out mild on Monday with highs in the 50s on the mountain to nearly 60 degrees at the base. Then slowly cooling each day with highs in the 40s up top and 50s at the base on Tuesday, and then 30s up top and 40s at the base on Wednesday.
Wed Night – Thursday System:
Wednesday night into Thursday a cold front moves through and a low-pressure system could spin up over CA. That could bring some light snow showers to the mountains with snow levels dropping below the base. Highs dropping into the 30s for Thursday.
We’ll continue to watch the trends on this system over the next few days. Right now it looks like we could see a coating up to a couple of inches of new snow on the mountain by Thursday night.
Next Weekend:
Drying and warming starting Friday into the weekend of the 15th-16th. We should see mostly sunny skies with highs warming into the 40s on the upper mountain and 50s at the base.
Long-Range:
Beyond the 17th we could see some cut-off lows spin up off of the coast and try to move through CA through the end of April. We’ll keep an eye on the forecast to see if any systems could possibly bring additional snowfall to the mountain before the end of the month.
