Wednesday – Sunday:
Wednesday through Sunday we should see mostly sunny skies and highs warming back into the 40s. We could start to see breezy winds again Thursday but lighter winds are expected Wednesday and again into the weekend.
Monday System:
We have been tracking a weak system for Monday. The latest model runs continue to trend this system drier. We could see some clouds, gusty winds, and a few scattered snow showers Monday, but the trend is drier each day as we get closer. We will see colder air move in Monday with highs dropping into the 30s.
Long-Range:
The trough that shifts the pattern starting Monday is forecast to stay over the West through next Thursday. That should keep us colder with highs in the 30s at the base and maybe only 20s up top through midweek. The trough looks to stay far enough east that we stay in a drier pattern as the storm track stays to our north and east.
Then high pressure could move in closer to the West coast by the end of next week into the 2nd week of February. That could bring back slightly warmer high temperatures, and that should keep us in a drier pattern for now.
Hopefully, we will see some stronger storms later in February. Right now only weak systems look possible through the 2nd week of the month. We’ll keep you posted!
