The past couple of weeks at Palisades Tahoe have been everything we love about this time of year at the Spring Skiing Capital®.
Warm weather. Sunny laps. Slushy corn turns. And time spent with the community that makes this place what it is.
Last weekend was a big one, with marquee events like Pain McShlonkey, The Mothership Classic, Snow Golf, and Ski for MS bringing energy across the entire resort. It was one of those weekends that reminds you why spring in Tahoe just hits different.
And the best part? We’re still going.
And while we’ve been firmly in spring mode, there are a few signs that winter might not be done with us just yet. We’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast in the days ahead.
With favorable weather ahead and the good times continuing to roll, here’s everything you need to know about current operations, conditions, and how to make the most of your time at the Spring Skiing Capital®.
Good news for the final stretch: parking reservations are no longer required.
All parking returns to first-come, first-served, 7 days a week. Any existing reservations will be automatically refunded/cancelled.

Season Outlook & Closing Plan
With the lack of early/mid-season snowfall and a quickly diminishing base will not allow us to make our targeted closing date of May 25 this year. As of today, we do not have a confirmed closing date but are targeting late April. We are monitoring conditions, moving snow to maintain ski/ride access on key terrain, and have live music and a slew of spring events to round out the spring season.
We do not have a specific closing date because we are committed to going as long as conditions allow. We believe that Alpine can continue to operate into the first week of April and that Palisades can go until late April. Of course, this is all dependent on conditions and snowpack. There is also the likelihood of spring storms which could change things up. We’re committed to offering Tahoe’s longest season with a multitude of ways to enjoy skiing and riding when all other resorts in the Lake Tahoe area have closed.
Current Lift & Terrain Status
As of today, we are spinning 16 lifts with access to about 30% of our trails which equates to roughly 1,800 acres. We plan to maintain roughly this footprint for the coming week, weather and conditions permitting.

We have around a 4-foot base at mid-mountain which is allowing us to offer high quality conditions at Gold Coast, Shirley, Siberia and Solitude, all accessible via the Aerial Tram and Funitel. The upper mountain beginner area, due to its sun exposure, has a lesser base and is likely to burn out soon.
On the lower mountain, KT-22 is still accessible via the Base to Base Gondola but is day by day. We expect the Mountain Run to last a week or so longer.
Alpine Conditions & Outlook
At Alpine, the base area snowpack is at less than 20” and burning out quickly. Conditions from Treeline Cirque, Roundhouse and Summit are great at the upper elevation and we are moving snow to maintain the ski/ride access to these lifts. As of now we are targeting to run through April 5 at Alpine.
