1 foot of fresh snow

The first storm moved in around 6pm last night and brought a foot of snow all the way to the base through the night!

Riding up Siberia

A huge thanks to our Mountain Operations crews for getting the lifts spinning and the slopes safely open by 9am so we could shred the new powder!

Plenty of Powder Turns

Today was definitely a day for low light lenses and an extra layer. Temps stayed low, snow showers lingered throughout the day and visibility was low at times, but it was so worth it! The foot of snow made for some incredibly fun turns and you could hear hooting and hollering on every trail.

It’s Snowing Again!

Another round of snow has already moved in and this storm is expected to bring another 6-12 inches by Friday morning. This would bring storm totals close to 2 feet and means another powder day tomorrow!

The weather should clear by the weekend with mostly sunny skies on Saturday and Sunday.

More Terrain on the Way

Thanks to this new snow, our crews will be working to open more terrain as soon as possible. Our Mountain Ops team is looking at KT-22 and Headwall chairs to open next at Squaw Valley. After the storm finishes tonight, grooming teams will need to build safety roads to access the tops of these lifts. Then lift crews will need to put chairs back on the lifts, re-space the chairs, and entirely test drive each lift for a significant period of time to ensure they are running safely. Ski patrol will also need to finish setting boundaries and markings on the terrain. Stay tuned for updates on opening news!

Please note: Reverse Traverse will be closed tomorrow as our crews work on the safety road and preparing Headwall for opening.

Operations Update: Warm Temps Return; Granite Chief Closed

After a small but exciting refresh of snow this week, we will be opening again on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for skiing and snowboarding. It will feel like spring out there, so get those boards and skis waxed, and come in costume: This weekend is Rodeo-themed. Our hours are still 9am-4pm, though that could change as soon as next week.
