Spring 2023 Après Guide

Three women sitting outdoors at Rocker on a sunny day with the slopes in the background

The California sun and long Spring days have always made our outdoor patios and sundecks the center of Spring Après in Lake Tahoe. Here are our top spots not to be missed.

1. Alpine Lodge Sun Deck

Come here for the… afternoon sunshine and cold cocktails.

Kick back and enjoy cold beers, canned wine + cocktails.

When your legs need a break from carving the spring slopes, the sun deck at Alpine is the perfect spot to unwind under the spring sun. Grab some food from the Meadows Cafe and a drink and post up on the spaced-out picnic tables to watch the afternoon skiers & riders come down the hill. If you want to sit even closer to the lifts, grab a seat in one of the Adirondack chairs on the snow beach just in front of the deck.

2. Rocker

Come here for the…beers on tap, Bloody Marys, and famous nachos.

If craft beer and a tower of cheesy delicious nachos is your thing, then head to Rocker. You’ll find one of the best outdoor decks in the heart of The Village at Palisades Tahoe paired with a scenic mountain backdrop. Try one of the signature cocktails like the famous Bloody Mary with all the fixings or the “Shane McConkey” which is served in a commemorative glass with a portion of the proceeds being donated to the legend’s foundation.

Sandwiches, salads, wings, and good times at The Rocker.

3. The Auld Dubliner Irish Pub

Come here for the…traditional Irish Fare, Guinness, and Great Wings.

In the heart of the Village, the Auld Dubliner (aka “The Dub”) has a spacious patio with a lively vibe and excellent post-skiing grub. For something hearty after a long day, try the Shepard’s Pie, Fish and Chips, or a stuffed Boxty (traditional Irish Potato Pancake, similar to a crepe). For lighter fare, don’t miss the Roasted Beet salad or Shaved Brussels. There’s a massive selection of Irish Whiskey and the best Guinness in all of Tahoe. Expect hearty food and drink and warm hospitality at this Palisades Tahoe favorite.

4. Tremigo Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar

Come here for the…margaritas and the molcajete.

Yes, the food and drinks at Tremigo are as good as they look. Photos: Paje Victoria.

The newest addition to The Village dining scene, Tremigo became an instant favorite among locals and visitors alike when it opened last spring. Tremigo serves up authentic Mexican cuisine, cocktails with a kick, and the best selection of tequila and mezcal around. Don’t miss the Molcajete, served family-style in a traditional lava stone with grilled shrimp, carne asada, chicken, and cactus in a spicy red sauce.

5. Fireside Pizza Company

Come here for the…pizza & salads the whole family will love with gluten-free options.

Fireside Pizza is the go-to family spot in The Village, serving a wide variety of pizzas from Four Cheese and Classic Margarita to more adventurous combos like Thai Chicken Curry and the signature Pear & Gorgonzola pizza. Plus, there are delicious salads, appetizers, a full bar, and gluten-free pizza crust available upon request!

6. Uncorked Wine Bar

Come here for the…robust selection of wines from California and beyond.

If you crave a delicious glass of wine after the slopes, Uncorked is your perfect spot to unwind. The atmosphere is cozy and mellow, with a knowledgeable staff to help you choose a glass, bottle, or wine tasting that you’ll love. The patio is a great place to lounge with a combination of tables and comfy couches. Or if you’re staying in The Village at Palisades Tahoe, grab a bottle to-go and enjoy on your private balcony!

7. Wildflour Baking Company

Come here for the… best chocolate chip cookies in Tahoe.

Wildflour is known for its cookies, but also serves up a full breakfast and lunch menu.

If your version of après involves satisfying sweets, then Wildflour is an absolute must. Susan’s fresh chocolate chip cookies are the best reward after a day on the slopes. Almost everything is made from scratch: baked goods, bagels, tortillas, soups, and chili (even the ketchup and sweet-spicy mustard). Wildflour is a welcoming spot for families, friends and is frequented by Olympians and professional athletes who grew up on the Palisades Tahoe Ski Teams. New this season, order online and pick-up at the window!

8. PlumpJack Cafe

Come here for the…craft cocktails, fine wines, gourmet apps, and a tucked-away patio.

PlumpJack Cafe has a beautiful tucked-away patio that you might miss if you didn’t know about it. But you definitely shouldn’t miss it. With close ties to Napa Valley’s wine country, it’s no wonder the wine list is pages long with plenty of options to find that perfect vintage. Be sure to stop in for a glass (or bottle), a perfectly crafted cocktail, or the new gourmet pizza menu.

9. Coffeebar

Come here for the…baked goods, healthy breakfast & lunch options, and brews for every time of day.

Coffeebar patio overlooks the slopes of Red Dog.

Inspired by the Italian café concept, Coffeebar follows the motto there’s a brew for every time of day. Stop by in the morning for the best selection of caffeinated beverages around–the friendly baristas serve everything from espresso and cold brew to specialty drinks like the Mexican Mocha and Lavender Tea Latte. In the afternoon, drop in for a draft beer or glass of prosecco and enjoy on the outdoor patio overlooking Red Dog chairlift. Beyond the brews, Coffeebar serves a variety of delicious baked goods (including gluten-free muffins and donut holes) and gourmet organic meals like the popular Paleo Bowl.

Enjoy your Coffeebar on the outdoor patio or to-go in The Village.

Photo Gallery: The Great Dig Out at Palisades

What a turbulent but exciting month March has been so far! The snow depth on our upper mountain is upward of 18 feet, and we are at 166% of total average snowfall. We started the first day of March off with 3 feet of snow in 24 hours. Then, after a small break in the weather, we received snow (and at some elevations rain) every day between March 5th and March 15th! Our season-to-date snowfall total is now sitting at 662 inches, or just over 55 FEET of snow. 14 of those feet have fallen in March alone!
