Let this post help you create the perfect wedding experience!

Squaw Valley Resort is the popular choice for adventure couples that want unforgettable Tahoe wedding memories. This Resort is the ideal hub for all of your guests’ lodging, activities, and wedding event celebrations. The location is nestled in the Sierra Nevada mountains and just a short jaunt to Lake Tahoe – best of both worlds. Squaw Valley is not just a wedding venue, it’s a destination one-stop-shop for a wedding weekend of fun and adventure to remember forever.

Enough chit-chat, let’s jump into our sample Summer/Fall adventure agenda that has so many great ideas to include into your celebrations. Take a few ideas or mimic the entire agenda. No need for a pen and paper because we’ve linked all of these great options for your exploring convenience. Be sure to bookmark this page right now, take a comfy seat, and let’s dive in!

Adventure Agenda

Tuesday

You’ve arrived! Check into your beautiful suite at Village at Squaw Valley and stroll into the Village for our Tuesday Bluesday free concert series. Stop by Alice’s Market or Uncorked Wine Bar to grab some provisions, and don’t forget a cool souvenir glass from our Village Logo Store that you can use all week long. Hungry after a day of travel? We have got you covered. The Village offers plenty of dining options to satisfy every appetite. Now go get some sleep because you have a busy week ahead. But first, stop by Lather & Fizz to grab some bubble bath and pampering supplies to spoil yourselves in your luxury suite throughout the days ahead.

  • A couple with drinks on the balcony of their room at The Village at Squaw Valley during Bluesdays
A suite overlooking Bluesdays & our Events Plaza
  • Couple smiling in a hot tub at The Village at Squaw Valley in summer
You have access to all 8 outdoor hot tubs when you stay at The Village
  • Couple with feet up and wine glasses on the balcony of their Village at Squaw Valley room
    Private balconies with every suite

Wednesday

Climb a mountain with your sweetheart! Two words, VIA FERRATA. Spend half the day exploring Squaw Valley’s most iconic rock face, The Tram Face, operated by local guide service, Alpenglow Expeditions. Then hit up the Village shopping to pick out any last-minute wedding party or family gifts. Be sure to find a couple of gems for yourself. Holiday ornaments are a great tradition to showcase your travels. Start with a Squaw Valley Alpine Meadows token to remember your wedding adventure week! Then take an evening sunset walk along the Valley’s leisure nature trail and stargaze into the night, or watch an outdoor movie in the Village.  Be sure to cuddle up next to one of our many fire pits placed throughout the Village before heading in for the night.

Thursday

Rent bicycles on site and hit the trails! There are a handful of mountain bike trails nearby or take the paved path along Truckee River to Tahoe City. Then head over to Commons Beach and explore the Farmer’s Market. Ready for some time on the water? The Truckee River begins in Tahoe City and is a great opportunity for river rafting. Purchase some floaties or rent a raft, either way you’ll have a blast! Prefer to get in Lake Tahoe instead? Yes, there are kayaks, paddleboards, and beaches galore, but this is your wedding celebration so go rent a boat and try wake surfing! A couple of boat rental companies even include a Captain/Coach to ensure your experience is stellar and can coach you on some awesome wake surfing tricks.

Friday

Start the day (and your wedding weekend) with some meditation and stretching. Wanderlust Yoga Studio offers a variety of classes. Have you tried aerial yoga yet? Next, check-in at the Squaw Valley Golf Course. They offer a full 18 holes, 9 holes, and tournament-style play. If swinging iron around isn’t your thing, go take a hike! There are several hikes on-site and a couple of trail options will even lead you to the top of the mountain, High Camp. Shirley Canyon trail will take you along waterfalls and to a stunning alpine lake, Shirley Lake. Be sure to bring your bathing suits! Once you’re at High Camp, grab a drink and some grub before renting an E-Bike to explore the mountain, or test your skills on the roller rink before jumping in the high elevation pool. Don’t forget the sunscreen! If you haven’t already introduced your wedding party to each other, I have a great idea. What better way than with our Adventure Ropes Course on-site? “It’s called a trust fall Karen, you’ll love it!”

Saturday

Wedding Day! Get outside for a nature walk or take a bike ride along the Truckee River trail. Maybe join a Yoga class or enjoy a trail run throughout the Valley. Soak in the quiet of the morning, before grabbing some coffee and breakfast burritos for the group. Or allow our Chef to custom create a bridal platter for your suite. Now it’s time to pamper yourselves and enjoy time with friends and family. You are beautiful and so is your love. We can’t wait to celebrate into the night with you!

Sunday

You’re married, woohoo!!! Let the adventure continue, but coffee first. Now go meet your favorite people in the Village for breakfast or lunch before they must depart. Or convince them to stay and experience all that Squaw Valley and Lake Tahoe have to offer. Go check out more hiking trails and biking trails, or plan a BBQ at Commons Beach while listening to the free summer concert series. Get back into the water today because it will leave you feeling fresh and rejuvenated, especially if you’re feeling the after-effects from all the wedding fun. Go conquer that wake surfing 360-degree trick or try foilboarding. End the night with a relaxing dinner cruise on The Tahoe Gal.

Monday

Reminisce on an epic week with your adventure partner. Be sure to visit your favorite spots before you leave, and consider taking a road trip around the lake to experience the many scenic views from all sides of the Basin. We know you’ll be back again soon, especially next year. Adventure anniversaries are a great way to celebrate and are a fantastic excuse to spend more time in Lake Tahoe. I DO, adventures!! Do you?
