An overnight storm brings a foot of new snow plus another 10” during the day. From the steeps and drops on Olympic Lady, to the ripping glades of Upper Mountain, the pow was amazing.

KT22
The overnight storm brought out the stoke this morning and a stacked line by 8:30 am. The new snow had the mountain looking prime. At opening, the snow was falling heavy and continued through mid morning. Visibility from 9-10 am was full on storm day, helping the mountain hold untracked pow for the first few laps.
Dropping into Olympic Lady, the new snow was amazing, untracked top to bottom and cold blower snow, not icy under, just smooth pow, getting face shots with each turn and drop. It is wild to see how filled in this zone is for early February. The terrain and features are riding so incredible. Love this zone.
The lower part of KT was a blast too, however it didn’t get as much snow as the upper part, about half the amount. The conditions in the lower part were a little icy under the pow and some moguls were still popping out. The wind filled in some fun sections that ripped in this zone and the good old KT cat track send was a blast today.
The sun popped out for a bit at 10 am. It was awesome to see how deep all the tracks were and the zones that were still holding fresh. The sunshine out got people cheering and getting after it.
By 11 am the storm was back on, bringing awesome heavy snow that continued all day.
Upper Mountain
We were hyped to get to the deeper snow on the upper mountain. The new snow was amazing at higher elevations today. However, the winds had much more effect on the conditions creating icy patches on the exposed areas. This made for some fun adventuring today and we kept and eye out for landings and chutes that held good pow all the way through and watched out for the icy patches.
Managing the variable conditions of pow and ice around the upper mountain, we found some great zones in the trees and protected areas that filled in tons overnight.
Today’s daytime storm provided an endless pow day, morning till afternoon. From KT to Upper Mountain, the new snow was amazing. Tomorrow is going to be another great pow day with sunny skies and Upper Mountain lifts opening that were closed today.
