Today’s weather and conditions were prime springtime with the sun, clouds, and slush. From the cool new groomers throughout Enchanted and Headwall to the slushy off-piste playground all around, the mountain has it all for springtime fun.

Red Dog
The weather today was awesome, sunny – high 40s, with minimal wind, and last night’s freeze made for some great mid-day slushy snow – smooth, fast, and a blast. We started the day’s mid-day mountain tour on Red Dog, hitting the classic groomer down the Dog Leg.

The groomer all the way down was fast, smooth, and just starting to soften up with its north-facing aspect. We timed it nicely, as the groomer hadn’t yet mogulled out, and the surface was just starting to slush up. It was rad zipping down the run the world cup event was on previously this winter. Top to bottom, this run is a blast, and today’s conditions made it super fun.
KT22
Next on our hit list for the mountain tour was making our way to the new groomer in Enchanted Forest alongside Ice Goddess cliff. From the top of KT, it was awesome to check out the lake, the springtime puffy clouds, and scope out Headwall and Upper Mountain. We took the Saddle down to Headwall.

The groomer throughout the Saddle was great today. We hit it right at noon, and it was smooth and not yet mogulled, so you could still open up the turns and rip. The side hits and cat-track jumps are all super fun right now. You can blast.
Headwall
With our big snowpack, it’s pretty cool to see all the new zones they’ve been able to groom around the mountain lately. Headwall has some great new groomers. Enchanted Forest has a cool new groomer section in Bullet around Ice Goddess and Adrenaline. The two zones are pretty fun, with the awesome banked walls, steep slope, and rolling terrain. And with the awesome slush today, this zone was one of our favorites on the mountain.

The conditions all around Headwall were so much fun that our mountain tour got held up at Headwall – the snow and terrain were so good we continued lapping it over and over. The snow in Sun Bowl was riding super well too, with the traverse out to Horse Trail still holding well.
The groomed terrain around Headwall was a treat today. However, the off-piste terrain is riding awesome! From the cornices to the cliffs, the off-piste snow is so good right now, from Headwall to all around the mountain.
Granite Chief – from Saturday.
Sunnyside
Wrapping up our mid-day session, we took Sunnyside down – a total blast today. The side hits are prime, and the cat track has many options. The off-piste conditions were riding super well too. Fast, slushy, fun rollers, and skatepark features all over. So much fun. The cold nights and warm days are making a great freeze/melt cycle right now, and timing it on the slopes has been a blast the past few days, and today hitting it mid-day, the slush and corn were awesome. Stoked for more spring riding days like these. See you out there.
