The annual spring Made in Tahoe Festival is almost here! May 25-26, The Village at Palisades Tahoe will be filled with amazing local artisans, businesses, chefs, organizations, and entertainers to celebrate all things LOCAL. To give a glimpse into this event, we asked some of our vendors about what they will be sharing with the community
Mountain Water Canvas- By Luca Stevens
The Mountain Water Canvas sells canvas bags as well as mixed media landscapes all made from reclaimed sails and marine fabrics! The majority of the reclaimed materials are collected from North Lake Tahoe as well as Northern California. The bags are designed and sewn in Truckee, and each bag is labeled with the origins of the reclaimed fabrics. The landscapes are geographically accurate and created using the reclaimed fabrics as well as UV resistant India ink before they are mounted on gallery depth frames. When asked what they love most about the Tahoe community, Luca responded, “So many passionate people contributing to different interests which makes for a vibrant, welcoming community”.

These high-end custom stereo consoles are the perfect centerpiece and conversation-starter in any home as they are bespoke pieces of art with that audiophile sound. Steve Morris, the founder of Streamline HiFi shares, “I love the laid back outdoorsy vibe of Tahoe and the wonderful people here”.

When we asked Mark what he loves about the Tahoe community, he said ” It’s home, and inspires a life of adventure, which is what we are proud to support!”. You can buy Hibear products online, or at Sock Parlor, The Backcountry, and Tahoe Sports Hub.
Blake Kessler Photography
Blake Kessler is Palisades Tahoe’s official photographer, and not only does he shoot video alongside TGR and Warren Miller, but the majority of the photos on the Palisades Tahoe Instagram are taken by Blake. Blake shares, “I love that when I go into any store in town, there’s a good chance of running into someone I know. I love how tight-nit the Tahoe community is and how supportive they are of artists, entrepreneurs, and anyone trying to make their own way”. Blake will be joining Made in Tahoe’s vendors to sell prints of his photography from around the World. If you can’t make it to Made in Tahoe, you can also purchase his prints on his Etsy page or website.
